by Asharqia Chamber this evening Wednesday, November
23, 2016 under the patronage of The women Economic Forum 2016, sponsored
by the Wife of the Prince of eastern region, Princess, Abeer bint Faisal
bin Turki, on Wednesday and Thursday 23 and November 24, 2016 in Sheraton Hotel
Dammam, through four sessions over two days, the reality and future of Saudi
women in the economic sector, with the aim of highlighting their opportunities
and their ability to achieve a balanced participation in the progress in the
economic improvement process, a forum is presented titled « Saudi women .. the
power of effect to lead the change » multiple images of the experiences of women in
the Gulf and the Arab world, as well as identifying economically basis and
their supporting strategies to be followed and continue according to its methos.
A major basis
that increases awareness and knowledge
Al
Ataishan said that the organization of Asharqia
Chamber to the event of the Women Economic Forum 2016 and the
annual reception, comes ito motivate the interaction and enhance the role of
women in the national economy, which is currently experiencing a new goal of
exploiting all the elements of the country and especially the human resource,
male and female, pointing that the Chamber was always what
provides support and consultationthrough diverse channels to the progress of
the Saudi women particularly in the economic fields, by urging them to find the
improvement and modernization mechanisms in production and business management
fields, pointing to the importance of intensifying such forums and conferences,
as it reviews the steps and needs of
women towards active participation in the national economy, considering
it as a major basis to increase awareness and knowledge of the others women
experiences in the region.
Al Ataishan
pointed that the Forum which is launched today titled « Saudi women .. the power of effect to
lead the change » comes as a completion of the
previous versions organized by the Chamber in the past few years that witnessed
a significant interaction and concluded to a group of supporting advices to the
journey of women in the economic sector, hoping that this forum will result in recommendations
that goes with the kingdom vision 2030, which confirms that women are one of
the most important elements of the heading of the Kingdom towards the future,
pointing that the Forum is a serious opportunity to look at what
is presented of experiments of self employment and pioneering in the Gulf and
Arab world, as well as being an opportunity to know the basis and strategies
that have proved their effectiveness in enhancing
the economic role of women.
The economic present and future of women

Al Hamdan noted that the Forum is a great opportunity to meet and search the paths
with the developments, and a look at the experiences and initiatives, and
successful strategies in supporting women economic jorney, as well as its role
in expanding the horizons of the mutual
cooperation between the Saudi businesswomen and their counterparts in the Arab
world, noting that in spite of the different titles and goals of the women
Forum in each session of the previous sessions, it starts with a vision of one
goal to enhance the participation of women in the economic progress.
Al Hamdan noted that the forum sheds
light to the present and future of women in the economic sector, especially in
light of the announcement by the Kingdom of the plan for economic modification and
improvement in the vision 2030, which paid great attention to the increased
participation of women in the labor market, considering it as a major leap that
needs more supporting initiatives and programs, and also to the women that are
able to take responsibility, saying that the government efforts are continuous
over the years to the empowerment of women, which has the great effect on increasing
their participation in various fields.
Hamdan added that the forum, according to its four meetings is trying to put
the opportunities and possibilities in front of everyone and then draws the
general frameworks for the contribution
of women, whether they are workers or businesswomen in the national economy,
pointing that the forum will witness the participation of a number of female
Highnesses and a group of businesswomen and interested female figures and
specialists in the Arabian Gulf and Arab countries.
The ideal exploitation of women in improvement
For
her part, the a member of the Board of
Asharqia Chamber, Samira Al Swaig, said that
the Saudi leadership currently is stepping in accordance with the clear vision
and steps, and formed a group of supporting plans to women in different fields, hoping that
women are already an active partner in
the economic and social development,
pointing to the importance of the topics in the Forum as how to approach to the
pioneering in the work by women and ways to exploit the potentials considering
her a fortune in the country, as well as
presenting future views of her role in
light of the start of the Kingdom vision 2030.
Al Swaig pointed that women form half of the society,
and therefore they can play a similar
role in many fields especially economically, noting that the forum is trying to
answer the question, how is the ideal exploitation of women as a human element in the economic development ?,as the speakers
review the opportunities to empower
women in
the economy and her ability to influence and make the change in the surrounding
economic environment around her, witnessing
the major changes with the launch of the new vision.
Al
Swaig stressed the need for the persistence of women to
achieve their goals, the work in trade, industry and production needs efforts
and determination and persistence, and this year forum carries the solutions to
what can be for businesswomen that they face the challenges of improving their economic
roles.
Green
light for the Saudi girl
For
her part, head of the Executive Council of young
businesswomen and a member of the Executive Council of Businesswomen, Anoud Al
Ramah, said that this year forum is
launched with advanced strategic vision and its aim is to achieve the full
equality between men and women in the economic participation, saying: (no doubt women have proved
their
ability to contribute effectively in all economic fields), noting that the
themes in the forum aim to improve the performance of women and highlight the
best use of the talents and abilities qualifying her to the competitiveness, and
the positive results to women on the one hand and the national economy on the
other hand.
Al Ramah stressed that the Forum major goals are
to enhance the role of women economically,
with a group of sub goals to expand the horizons of young businesswomen and
urges them to launch projects for small and medium ones specially, noting that young
Business Council provide awareness and consultation with programs to enhance knowledge
of
girls who seek self employment in the appropriate economic fields, considering
that the Kingdom vision 2030 with the philosophy of diversification in the
economic fields, gave the green light to the Saudi girl to the investment of
projects, urging young Saudi businesswomen to participate in the forum this
year to expand their ideas with the successful
experiences around them .
Enhancing the economic position of women
The head of female salons in Asharqia Chamber and Vice Chairman of the
Executive Board of businesswomen, Shuaa Al Dahilan,said that the Economic Women
Forum 2016 has aspirations of increasing
the participation of women in many sectors for investment, employment and the
level of training, especially with the new vision of women and puting their
issues in priority of the agenda, noting that this fifth edition of the Forum
is trying to support women, according to a number of themes aabout the economic
empowerment and research and the challenges and the role expected of her under
the national transformation plan 2020 and the vision of the Kingdom 2030,
confirming that the enhancing of the economic position of women would
contribute in the power of economy and enhances the opportunities after knowing
them.
Al Dahilan said that the Forum includes the high
class of society and specialists in the economic field, shedding light on a
number of topics of interest to women in the economic field, and supporting her
potentials in many sectors, in addition to shedding light on the reality of
businesswomen in the Arabian Gulf region
and specially that many businesswomen in the region possess several projects
worth billions of dollars, but there are things that require reconsideration to
take advantage of international experiences, and therefore the forum offers a
great opportunity to Saudi businesswomen to benefit from the experiences that
will be presented.
Four main themes

Zahid said that the Forum which will be held in 23-24 November will discuss four
main issues, the first discusses: how to achieve a balanced economic
partnership between the sexes, and the second, is the urge for solidarity to
open the way for next generations, and the third and fourth topics about
determining the role of women in the progress process, and in light of the
launch of vision 2030.
Al Zahid stressed that the forum will witness the participation
of some of important speakers, noting that some of them, by order of the
sessions, such as: Dr. Hessa Saad Al Sabah, who will present a speech in the
Arab Businesswomen Council, part of the opening event , also Her Royal Highness
Princess, Modhi bint Khalid bin Abdul Aziz, member of the Saudi Shura Council,
and Her Royal Highness Princess, Adela bint Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, chairman
of the management Center Khadija bint Khuwailed to support businesswomen in the
Chamber of Commerce and industry in Jeddah, and Ms. Hind Al Subaih, Minister of
social Affairs and labor for planning Affairs and development in Kuwait, and
vice Jordanian parliament, Wafa Bani Mustafa, and deputy of the UAE Women,
Sheikh Majd Al Qasimi, member of the Saudi Shura Council, Dr. Lubna Al Ansari,
and Dr. Mai Al Dabbagh, Department of social Sciences in New York University in
Abu Dhabi professor, Inas Makkawi, an ambassador. Head of women, Family
and childhood administration of Arab League, Dr. Sumaiya Al Sulaiman, member of
the municipal council of the secretariat of the Eastern region, and Dr. Suad Al
Arifi, the academic in King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah, Dr. Faten Al Sari,
manager of women work programs in the Ministry of Labor and social development,
and Dr. Reem Alferian, Assistant Secretary General for businesswomen affairs in
the Saudi Council of Saudi Chambers and Ms. Walaa Nahas a consultant in
economic development. Al Zahid concluded saying that the Chamber is seeking to launch the fifth
edition of the World Economic Forum of Women to enhance the role of women
economically, noting that the forum today was preceded by intensive preparations
by the administrator team inside the Chamber for the forum, to receive and confirm the participation
demands of specialists and interested figures in economic affairs in various
Arab countries, pointing that the forum will see the participation of a big number
of female Highnesses and a group of businesswomen and academics and specialists
in the Arabian Gulf and Arab countries.
